5 Fashion Tips From Shop Affair

Just the other day I had a friend tell me that I should be aware of things that may be common knowledge to me, may not be common to everyone. This was very eye opening to me because I have so much to share but I never wanted to make it sound like I was just throwing basic knowledge around. So with that said, I have a few tips I want to share that may help you with your shopping experience. (No particular order)

#1. When styling a flowy top, try pairing with fitted bottoms. This helps balance out the fit and shows your figure better.

#2. Invest in basics. This will help you always have items on hand to actually build an outfit.

#3. Leave a little ankle showing when styling skinny jeans. This helps lengthen your legs and breaks up the bottom of your pants with your shoes.

#4. Use the "Rule of Thirds" and a "Visual Break" when styling an outfit. This basically means you would put a visual break in your outfit. You can google for more info on this. I find it very helpful!

#5. Get rid of items in your closet that look worn out, are too big or too small, and that you haven't reached for in the last 6 months. This has to be one of my number 1 tips. I truly believe that when someone is, let's say given last minute dinner plans, they should be able to walk into there closet, have something in mind, and feel good about getting dressed for that occasion.

I really love helping people find something that compliments there shape and allows them to wear the outfit vs the outfit wearing them. I also feel it's helpful to understand these are just tips and my opinions and what I have learned and picked up over the years. No matter what your personal style is what makes you, you. Just have fun and always feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Happy Shopping!
